This website considers 13 topics, arranged roughly in the order in which they are likely to arise during a development project. Each user group needs to consider all of the topics, but will approach them in a different way. The priorities of each user group are summarised for every topic, along with an outline of how the other two groups will be approaching the same topics.
Bear in mind that the tasks listed will require varying levels of time and resources to complete. These in turn will vary by project, because different buildings have different requirements.
Links without a symbol point to relevant web-based documents, which will open in a new window. Links are given to the sections of the original report that deal with the topic in detail. These links are indicated by this symbol: ![]()
The key to sustainability is to recognise and address all the consequences of a decision. Therefore the topics must not be considered in isolation.
You can progress through the topics within the group most relevant to you, or focus on a particular topic, moving between user groups and accessing relevant parts of the case study to gain an overview of what each group should be considering.
